We are thrilled to welcome a special guest traveling all the way from Nairobi, Kenya, to join us for this Salon evening.
Kefa Oiro is a Nairobi-based choreographer, filmmaker, and curator whose work spans more than two decades across dance, film, and interdisciplinary arts. Through his initiative Tuchangamke Arts, he develops artistic projects that explore identity, culture, and social realities while fostering collaborations between East Africa and Europe. His creative practice bridges performance, documentary storytelling, and community-centered artistic processes.
As a filmmaker and creative director with Digi Collective Limited, he documents and amplifies stories from diverse communities and cultural landscapes.

During the evening, Kefa will present his short film Stranger in Mombasa, read three short pieces, and join Alexandra Sorgenicht in a live conversation and interview about the artistic themes behind the work.
The discussion will open a dialogue on the relationship between the body and urban architecture, and how our movements, perceptions, and identities are shaped by the cities we inhabit — both from an artistic perspective and from the everyday experience of living as human beings in urban environments.
