About the book
"INTUITION - How to strengthen the voice of your soul and use it for a self-determined and free life"
Everything you wouldn't expect to find in a book about intuition.
Everything you wouldn't expect to find in a book about intuition.
In this book, I am in a way stripping myself naked down to my soul. I do this because intuitive training generally does not work through theory, but only through experience. And because I consider vulnerability and transparency to be the essential factors in human growth and connection. In addition to my insights and knowledge on the topics of intuition and becoming human, I therefore also share stories from my own life and that of other people who I have helped to rediscover their intuition.
These stories are very personal. Sometimes they are painful and sad, sometimes simply touching. They are always hero's journeys that describe very individual paths out of wounds, trauma, fear and uncertainty into a fulfilled, intuitive life.
"Living the soul" is not a buzzword, it is the everyday reality of an intuitive person.
"You are God. So act like it" was the first idea I had for the title of this book - over ten years ago.
It was then that I realized for the first time that the increasing popularity of spirituality and consciousness also had a dark side. Not only was the path to enlightenment becoming a consumer product, illusionary shortcuts to it were being advertised. These offers do not expand consciousness, they do not lead to healing and growth, but rather they numb, distract and ultimately prevent people's own power.
The promise of a shortcut to experiencing one's own divinity has an enormous seductive power, especially now, in the troubled times we are experiencing. Alongside wars, climate change and the crumbling economy, dealing with AI is the key challenge that lies ahead of us.
We humans are incredibly impressive creatures. Truly embracing our potential as a species is the great opportunity of the crisis in which we find ourselves collectively and globally. Through our intuition, we experience the connection with the entire human family, and the challenge loses its intimidating size and terror.
No book in the world can replace several years of training. That's not my point either.
I wrote this book because it is important to me that all people who want to grow, who want to heal, who ultimately want to become who they are, can remember that they already carry the key to their very own journey within them.
Kind regards,
Alexandra

INTRODUCTION |
IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD!
I did my best to carry the large bag of laundry without anything falling out. We lived in a large apartment building in a town in the Ruhr area. The hallway was dark and the smell of stale food and habitual disappointment made it seem even narrower than it already was. When I arrived at our front door, I suddenly felt my mother's bright red energy at my back. I just managed to put the laundry bag down and duck. The fist only hit me on the shoulder and not, as usual, in the kidney area. "You stupid! You've forgotten the key! What are we going to do now? I have to work!" she shouted at me. I was five years old.
Fifty years later, I still frequently perceive the dangerous bright red energy that my mother introduced me to at an early age. In the supermarket, on the train, in Zoom rooms and especially on social media - it really isn't rare. Even more often, I see its harbinger, a dark purple or aubergine-colored protrusion that lies on top of the bright red energy. Uncontrolled aggression and the attempt to control it for fear of social sanction....
For me, these states or energies are not only tangible, I can also 'see' them. As a child, I was surrounded by this energy every day and it was often life-threatening for me. I survived. And certainly also because I could foresee when the eruption from dark purple to bright red was imminent. But above all, I survived because I knew that the violent and abusive times of my childhood would not last. Because I could see much more than just the danger my mother posed. I saw the beauty in the souls of many people and also in my soul. As a result, I knew that the scathing abuse and put-downs I had to listen to at home had no truth in them. Intuitively, I knew that I was valuable and that my life was worthwhile.
In the darkest hours of my childhood and youth, when I had to endure violence and abuse, I left my body and concentrated on the soul level. For me, this level was and is a place in the cosmos where I am pure energy and perceive pure energy. In this place, I am free and at the same time experience a fulfilling connection with all that is. In my childhood and youth, this place gave me security and beauty above all else. It was always bright, quiet, loving and safe there. I had no home and no parents in the true sense of the word, and so the soul level became my home.
As a young child, of course, I didn't question what I saw, it came naturally to me. I could see colors around people; knew exactly how they were feeling; saw what they wanted to hide, where they were in physical pain, and had clear premonitions when someone's life was coming to an end. Communicating with animals was easy for me and I perceived all sorts of entities that others did not. Sometimes these entities would appear to me in dreams, often I would talk to them before I fell asleep and they always gave me comfort and reassurance.
As a child, I didn't know that these perceptions were intuitive perceptions and I didn't worry about them. A therapist once described me as a polar flower: "There are people who blossom even though they have grown up in an extremely hostile environment. We don't yet know why this is the case, but we do know that they are rare, but they do exist. I call people like you polar flowers."
Maybe I was or am a polar flower. I like the image, even if I now see myself more as one of the colorful flowers in the wildflower meadow of my life. I know exactly why I have "blossomed" despite more than poor starting conditions: because I have never lost access to the voice of my soul, to my intuition. I don't know how many times in my life I've had to listen to the phrase "You're just imagining things" when I've verbalized my intuitive perceptions. Countless times. It's not for nothing that most participants in intuition training struggle for months, if not years, with the insecurity that everything they perceive is just their imagination.
Ultimately, the devastating judgment "You're just imagining it" is an expression of insecurity and inability in the face of a space that we all know exists and has a great influence - while at the same time knowing that we don't have the slightest idea who we are in this space and how we can and should behave in it. But one thing is certain: we can remember how to lead an intuitive life!

It is an adventure to write about something that everyone knows, but which is not "proven" anywhere.
So if you want to embark on a journey of discovery, if you want to learn more about a special dimension of life, you will find an enlightening book here.
Children are good at using their intuition. They still have free access. Only when we grow up do we trust our cognitive brain more than our intuition, writes Alexandra Sorgenicht. But we can get our intuition "back" if we train it.
The book is very personal and full of examples. This makes it easy to read. It tries to explain the connection between body/mind/soul and psyche and the connection to spirituality. "Intuition is the voice of the soul" (chapter title page 29). Alexandra Sorgenicht thus broadens the field. Because, like intuition, the concept of "transcendent being" is not really defined.
It doesn't have to be: I have been working as a psychotherapist, family therapist and coach for around 45 years. As part of this work, I often come across people who "superficially" have "reasonable" problems. Behind this are questions such as how to receive enough love and recognition, but also elusive thoughts about their own intuition and spirituality. Also the observation that our world is difficult to explain without a spiritual context. Sometimes it's just assumptions, hypotheses, sometimes beliefs. So I can understand many of Alexandra Sorgenicht's conclusions.
However, I have found that the most rational people can be very intuitive. So: you will find a courageous book here, which is very easy to read and very personally written. It offers an insight into the world of intuition. It cannot answer all your questions, but it encourages you to ask your own. In this way, it points to your own path of development.

Alexandra Sorgenicht has written a practical, comprehensive, and eminently accessible guide to understanding and developing intuition.
With a clear, conversational style and relatable real-life examples, she places the ability firmly in normal human experience. Of particular note is her exploration of varying aspects of intuitive living (sovereignty, communication, love, trust, etc.). Her book is a valuable contribution to literature on the topic and could be improved only by an English language edition!
