It marks something more uncomfortable: inner becoming. Life is created here in secret - in the belly of the earth, in the dark, long before it takes shape or has to justify itself. A quiet, inner YES - still without resonance on the outside.

This must be able to be supported and endured.

In a culture that places visibility, performance and results above all else, this invisible is suspect.

It eludes control. It cannot be accelerated, cannot be utilized.

The patriarchy has not handled this being and knowledge with care.
Imbolc became Candlemas. The inner fire became a consecrated candle. Cyclical fertility became a moral order.

The festival was shifted from a living moment in nature to a church interpretation - not to honor the light, but to classify it.
Candlemas still carries light, yes. But it no longer celebrates becoming itself, but the subordination of light to an existing order.

This is not a historical detail. It is a pattern.

About the fear of wholeness

What has been shifted here is central: wholeness.
Wholeness means: body and soul. Inner experience and outer action. Spirituality, ethics and responsibility are inextricably linked.

Patriarchy divides.
It allows inwardness as long as it has no consequences on the outside.

It tolerates spirituality as long as it does not disturb, interfere or position itself.

This logic not only shapes established religions - it continues to have an impact on mainstream spirituality today.

This is particularly evident in the much-cited dogma:
„Heal yourself to heal the world“

This sentence contains a truth - and that is precisely why it is so dangerous.
Yes, inner work is essential. Yes, awareness work starts on the inside. But in isolation, this sentence has a dehumanizing effect. Subliminally, it says:
Take care of yourself. The world is not your field.
If you are affected, you are not yet „far enough“.

This subtly devalues a deeply human need for relationships, compassion and responsibility.

The desire to intervene, to protect, to take a stand is dismissed as immature or „low-swinging“.

The ability to have an impact on the world is invalidated, and even more so, it is denied any significance!

This is not spiritual maturity - this is withdrawal with a spiritual veneer.

Spirituality has never been neutral.

That's why I asked last week:
Who actually invented the idea that politics is „low vibration“ and that spiritual people are not allowed to have a clear stance?

Who did it? The founding fathers of the patriarchy, who knew about the power of wholeness.

The systems and individuals who have benefited from this idea have carried it forward and continue to do so today.

And: this separation is no coincidence. It is part of the same patriarchal overwriting that controls the invisible and dismantles wholeness.

It protects existing power relations by depoliticizing spirituality.

Spirituality has never been neutral.
Not in early Christianity. Not in mystical traditions. Not in indigenous cultures. Spiritual practice has always been a question of alignment:
Who do I serve?
What do I protect?
Where do I stand when dignity is violated?

A current example: living spirituality with risk

A current example from the USA shows just how real this question is:
Bishop Robert Hirschfeld of the Episcopal Church in New Hampshire has publicly called on the ordained priests of his diocese to settle their affairs and wills. His reasoning: a time may be dawning in which spiritual responsibility means putting one's own body between the congregations and the ICE agents in order to protect the lives of the people entrusted to them with one's own if necessary.

This is not a metaphor.
This is spirituality that combines body, attitude and responsibility.
A spirituality that does not ask whether something „vibrates high“, but whether it is humane.

And it is a call that honors the original idea of the Catholic Church, because „Catholic“ actually means „all-encompassing“ and „concerning the whole“.

Inner light seeks relationship

Reflecting on yourself is important.
But only if this reflection leads back to relationship:
to other people, to the world, to power, to injustice, to the question of how we want to live.

I honestly wonder how fundamentalist Christians can dare to call themselves Christians while legitimizing inhumanity, exclusion and violence. Not because I question Christian spirituality - but because I take it seriously. A faith that preaches compassion and practices cruelty is not spirituality. It is ideology.

Imbolc reminds us of this:
The light that arises in the darkness wants to be allowed to unfold - to correspond to its nature.

It does not want to be forced.

True spirituality was never a retreat.
It was always a relationship and an answer.

Why inner light remains ineffective without attitude. | 740 words, approx. 6 minutes reading time.

[28

post-6406","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-blog
["GET
